It really makes you wonder what this world is coming to.
I see in other news certain companies are banning Christmas decorations for fear of offending ethnic minorities!

As I understand it (please correct me if I am wrong) the press targeted Birmingham City (UK) council for apparently proposing to change Christmas into "Winterval", though it seems that the council's proposal was misunderstood (it was an idea to categorise winter celebrations from a wide range of faiths, including Christmas).Originally posted by coupekid View PostUnbelievable

But as a result of the press focus on this controversy, Hindus, Muslims, Jews, Sikhs, etc. were asked if they were offended by 'Christmas' dominating this time of year and the overwhelming reply was - no, of course not.
And I, for one, would love to enjoy the annual celebrations of other faiths and it's good to see that my children get to do this at their school.

This is an explosive piece of news in our house! We heard it on the 8 am news whilst lying in bed the other day. It soon made us jump out of bed.Originally posted by coupekid View PostUnbelievable

What is this country coming to?
When I was working the whole feel of the place had a festive atmosphere in December, with all the Christmas decorations and cards, both for the workforce and clients/patients.
Although it symbolizes a Religeous Holiday, not everyone who puts up a Christmas Tree or hangs decorations is necessarily strongly religeous, they just enjoy the Festive Season and have done for hundreds of years.
This is England and long may we enjoy our Christmas Decorations!
Merry Christmas, now I have got that off my chest.

Thousands of office parties are being banned because of possible H&S issues and, because employers could be sued by any employee who may get injured in any way.
The world's gone start raving bonkers-------------------------
