They had one of the biggest budgets in F1 which just goes to show you cannot just throw money at a team and win. So that's we teams in under a year not good for what is meant to be the number one motor sport in the world. Oh well they still have tyres to race on for another year who knows after that.

With Toyota pulling out and Renault dancing on the fence, it's not a good year for manufacturer teams is it?
Still, maybe that's a warning to all. Honda team with Honda engine was a complete dog until Honda pulled out and Brawn stuck a Mercedes engine in it. Even though the engine didn't fit, it still blitzed the field. If the Toyota team wasn't a manufacturer, maybe they could have stuck someone else's engine in their car and won a few more races?
Renault won a couple of championships with Alonso pulling the car over the line by his teeth, but the Renault manufacturer team has done significantly worse than Red Bull with a Renault engine this year - and, had the Renault engine been a bit more reliable then maybe Red Bull would have won the two championships this year.
I watched some of the old races on the red button and there are no end of teams I've either never heard of or forgotten about. So perhaps it's time to get back to engine suppliers supplying engines, and not making up their own teams? (Ferrari being the exception for obvious reasons.)
