Re: McLaren to go it alone without Mercedes?
I understand that Mercedes have a solid agreement with McLaren for another couple of years, but they can still take a large shareholding in Brawn in preparation to re-naming it Mercedes. I think Mercedes are a bit fed up with a lack of control within the team and also the PR issues with McLaren and cheating from time to time. Things are also strained with the road car businesses as McLaren's new supercar is deemed to be competition to Mercedes' own cars.

Re: McLaren to go it alone without Mercedes?
The thing is Ian we all know that these agreements do not seem to mean a lot in F1 just ask kimi. I am sure if Mercedes think they will be better off at Brawn they will go. It looks like Mclaren may try and break the agreement first anyway. Like you say it does not look good if the Mclaren road car is in competition. Also looks like Ron did not go that far from the F1 side of things after all lol.Originally posted by Ian View PostI understand that Mercedes have a solid agreement with McLaren for another couple of years, but they can still take a large shareholding in Brawn in preparation to re-naming it Mercedes.
