A scanner camera? - 130Mega pixels! Using a flatbed scanner and a lens for large format camera, he successfully built it after trial and errors.

He seems to be a little bit embarassed when he suddenly starts to get so many comments from the world. When he posted it several months ago, it looked no responses.

Sample pics are uploaded here. Good.

How the camera is operated - it is shown here.

Hi Yoshi, scan back cameras are quite common for photographing paintings for fine art reproduction. But I guess the appeal of this one is that it was home made?

I see. I did not know that when I posted it.

I was wondering what the shutter speed would be. Only one speed available? If shutter speed choice that is similar to "normal" cameras become available, I thought, Medium/Large Format cameras could be developed at very attractive price.
There are some amateur landscape photographers who are still stick to Large Format film camera (and of course enjoying it). They are using black clothes even under this hot sun. I thought the scanner cameras might be a good alternative for them. - Many of them also use dSLR as well, so digital is not a big issue to them.
Maybe I was too much excited.

p.s. Yes, a hobby photographer made it at home.

The shutter speed is the time that the scan head takes to pass from one side of the frame to another Depends on the resolution. Some scanners can do a preview scan in about 5 seconds, but a 300ppi scan will take around 30 seconds to several minutes. 1200ppi would be several minutes to cover an A4 area, but you would get a 130 megapixel image

Scanbacks for plate cameras aren't as large A4 scanners, see:

By the way, I see the guy who made his own scan back camera used an old Canon FD breechlock lens; that reminds me of when I used to use a borrowed Canon FTb when I was a teenager...
