  • The delights of Competition Judging

I went to a Camera Club tonight to Judge a "Projected" image competition

There were 60 odd digital images and nearly 20 slides. Part way through my comments on image number 6, out went the lamp on the DLP...

This all had to be done in under 2 hrs and they have a tea break, which with 60 people all wanting their cuppa took ages.

They eventually found a replacement projector and it all got done...

Of course only the one person that won was happy and thought I was a great judge, some of the others hardly even said goodbye

    Good fun this judging lark

Ah Graham. I am our Programme Secretary and have just booked 7 judges for next year. I should have known! I don't expect you come as far north as Worksop though.

We had our meeting tonight and our lecturer was one of our own members - a slide worker but recently a convert to digital. It was called "Days in the Light."

It was an excellent evening as this particular photographer, studies sunrises, sunsets, tides and times and seasons before he goes to take the shot. Obviously, he know what shot he is aiming for. Needless to say it was a superb evening, as he is a superb photographer. We only have a 10 minute break.
