I was on the edge of my seat not sure about anybody else. I did think we had it for a moment then.

Re: Edge of the seat or what
big question.....did glock throw it?
to lose 18 secs in 1 lap when it wasn't exactly raining is a bit of a mystery.
i'm glad it went to hamilton. after the spa fracas, the result, in my mind, is justified.
disappointed for massa. if he'd been racing for the title against most others he'd have had my support.
gutted for DC. to go out on the first corner on your last race is not the way an F1 career should end.
oh yeah, with 4 laps to go i thought it was going to be tight. with 3 laps to go i thought it was game over. with 1 lap to go it was still game over. with 1 corner to go i was waiting for some other sting in the tail.

Re: Edge of the seat or what
At the end of the the day Massa did all he could in that race. How he kept it together at the end I do not know. Ferrari made to many mistakes this season and that was his down fall. Yes he also made mistakes but I do believe the team made more. Roll on next year. Hopefully more overtaking with all the changes oh and best of all NO adverts.

That's not niceeven I did not shout and scream at the tv. That's just going to far. Like I told my kids come and tell me he is the best if he wins seven more.

Re: Edge of the seat or what
Brilliant race, couldnt have gone down more to the wire than that, last lap final corners.
I am glad Lewis got it, he was let down so much last year by his team (yes I know he made some silly mistakes too). Good to see another Brit back with No 1 on his car.
Also really sorry for DC he has had some rotten luck this year.Would have been nice to see him finish (and do those illegal doughnuts he said he would have done)
Looking forward to next year with all those rule changes should be a completely different ball game

No mystery at all! Vettel and Glock opted to stay on dry weather tyres and both of them were in danger of losing it on the last few corners, in fact they returned almost identical times for that last lap. Glock admitted it afterwards.

thought vettel was on wets and it was only glock that stayed on dries? didn't appreciate it had got THAT wet towards the end of the lap.
job well done for lewis though, and as mowgli has said great to see a brit at the top of the pile again.
congrats lewis!!

I had to watch it time-delayed and, as usual, Julia was teasing me (she always finds out the result to wind me up...)
I felt desperately sorry for Massa, but from my heart I do feel the right man won. And Massa was very honourable in defeat.
This was another case of true life is stranger than fiction!
I don't think Glock threw it - you could see just after he was passed that his car was right on the edge of going off on those dry tyres.

Re: Edge of the seat or what
glock - yeah, can see that now. i didn't think it had got that wet but obviously it had.
not impressed with the brazilian fans booing hamilton at every opportunity, and as usual, ITV cut the interviews short. at least they didn't cut the program early to swap to some lame soap, which i fully expected.
it'll be good to not have adverts every 15 mins next year :-)

Ian.
How did massa keep his cool like that, I bet there are not many of us who could. I know for one I could not have. My toys would have been well clear of the pram by the time I had finished
.
Roll on March and we can all start again. Oh and i may have to change my home page for a few months. Its the itv f1 website at the moment

Re: Edge of the seat or what
I felt sorry for Massa at the end. You just know that if Glock's slowing had given the win to Massa, everyone would be screaming "Ferrari Conspiracy" everywhere. Not so when he loses 40s for Hamilton to overtake him. Even the commentators had already said that Glock was a full 15s ahead and so wouldn't come into play.
Still, it was a good end to the season. Hamilton's got his first win, well done indeed given that his F1 career has been surrounded by so much controversy so far.
Oddly, when seeing the three drivers in the press conference, I did wonder if I was looking at the three best drivers currently in F1. Alonso who is a double world champion; Raikonnen the previous WDC, and Massa who's had more race wins than Hamilton this year. It is funny that a driver can win the WDC without winning the most races. Which is the better driver? The one who wins the most races, or the one who wins through statistics?
It is rather ironical that, as the years progress, that the world champion of F1 is winning less and less races.
In 2004, the WDC won 13 races.
In 2005, the WDC won 7 races.
In 2006, the WDC won 7 races.
In 2007, the WDC won 6 races.
And in 2008, Hamilton wins the WDC by winning just 5 races while the runner-up wins 6 races.
I wonder if the year will come when the winner of the WDC doesn't win any races whatsoever.
Also, this was the first year in quite some time that those fighting for the WDC didn't score over 100 points.
Still, we have a Brit at the top of the heap once more. Nicely done.
Bad luck for Coulthard, ending his career in just about the worst way possible. Just when he'd got everyone's okay on the last-race paintjob, he doesn't get the chance to show it off. What's the guy supposed to do?
And where was Button again? Everyone keeps saying that they stopped development on this car to concentrate on next year's. I truly hope it's worth it. Not even the great Hamilton himself could get that lousy car moving!

What worrys me about Honda is that the engine is apparently down on power. This is exactly where Honda should be excelling and the problem is that engine development is frozen, so I'm not sure how they can improve in this vital area
