Do you feel sometimes that you wish you had never started on this (sometimes) frustrating hobby? I have had my eye on a picture for several months now, full moon rising between the piers on our harbour. I have gone down there several nights either side of the full moon for quite a few months now and its either been cloudy, raining or a night I couldnt make it. Well tonight was the night, watching the weather all day, clear sky, full moon... I went to the location on top of the viewing gallery and I didnt know whether to laugh or cry. It was high tide and there plonked right in my line of view was the fast ferry(why couldnt it have parked on the other side of the pier?). I drove off in frustration to another pier and couldnt get the view I wanted then lo and behold the ferry went out Drove back to the original place but the moon was up by then and the piccy was lost. I think I will go back to sunrises / sunsets at least they occur everyday

What do you mean sometimes I think that most of the time. Sorry you have missed out on that again I know how much you wanted that shot. Oh and if you stick to the moon and I stick to the sun photos we will become know as the ying and yang of the website.

I know how you feel. Why is it when you set the camera up someone walks in front of it?

I have cooled down now, there is always tomorrow night (if the weather holds out) hopefully the tide or the ferry will be different. The moon will probably rise further north too GRRRRRRRR

Perhaps I should get a really super zoom lens and look for the remainder of the lunar modules left there from the moon landings?
