Actually, during the evening yesterday I did notice the speed had dropped to around 3-5Mb/sec, or very heavy usage in my locality. So maybe there was a Virgin network issue.
My office connection is running quite well today, at 5Mb/sec - double the speed I have typically had to put up with. Next week, for technical reasons that are too boring to bother with here, we're having a new ADSL connection installed at the office. We're promised slightly higher base speed from Eclipse and a lower contention ratio, but a limit of 20GB per month traffic. I think that will be OK for us, but we can monitor it as well. Currently we're on unlimited traffice with Eclipse.
