      Oh, possibly... let me think...

      How about this -

The Q&A states that it was "Conducted by McLaren's press office". Clearly McLaren are already holding the leash on Kovy. Reminds me of the way Alonso suddenly clammed up and had to be nice to them in order to get out of his contract.

For a team that seems to have kittens over maintaining its public image, they've made a bit of a hash of it this year haven't they?

Let's face it, PR is something McLaren need to play very cautiously right now. I don't blame them for keeping things in-house, at least while Kovy gets used to how things work around there. He'll probably be relieved not to have had to think to much about what he was saying.

Alonso, however you look at it, behaved appallingly at McLaren. If, in return for an early release from his contract, McLaren got him to toe the company line a little, well I think that was perfectly fair under the circumstances.

If they had made his life even half as difficult as he made things for them, he would either be still stuck with a team he couldn't race for or possibly even taking a season's rest under contract to McLaren. As it happens, they asked very little of him in return for that release...

Undoubtedly. But we all make mistakes and something tells me that in any case, we'll never know the complete truth.

I'm certainly prepared to believe it was six of one and half-a-dozen of the other. I also wonder that if Alonso had his eyes open when signing on to McLaren, if he would never have left Renault.

It is awfully noticeable, though, that while he was in the team he was making all kinds of accusations about the lack of equality and the way everyone was favouring Hamilton and then, as soon as he escapes from the team, suddenly he never said any such thing and everything was hunky-dorey - equality all round. Yeah, well if it really *was* that good, you wouldn't have left, would you Alonso? Pinocchio, Pinocchio...

I just hope that we can have a little less legal sparring next year and a little more of the three-horse race (Kimi, Lewis, and Alonso) that will make the sport great again.

...but I'm still rooting for Button!

We'll see. Too tired to find anything to argue about, so will check in tomorrow and review the situation
