Spoilers - don't scroll down if you don't want to know

Hamilton crushed the competition in qualifying - which was a bit of a surprise as he'd been a tad off the pace until then. I think he's going to win the championship in style tomorrow

I was very pleased to see Jenson in the final qualifying shoot-out, albeit 10th; hopefully optimising the car for the race tomorrow - which could be wet again... one can but dream of Hungary last year

    Re: Shanghai qualifying (spoilers)

A little bit like last week really. Hamilton being fairly consistently off the pace, then suddenly pulling a blinder out of the bag at the last minute to take the pole.

With Alonso fourth, Hamilton on pole can't lose now. All-hail Hamilton the new WDC! All congrats to him and all that, it's just a surprise that he didn't storm ahead earlier in the season like it looked like he was going to.

Nice to see Button improving over the last few races. He's had a tough year. Whatever else goes on with the fight for WDC, Button gets my vote (I only have one F1 race on DVD, and that's Button's win last year!). People have suggested that Button teams up with Hamilton at McLaren if Alonso goes, but I hope that doesn't happen. I'd rather see Button being the main man at Honda than being the also-ran at McLaren.

Personally, I would love to see him at Mclaren!

I honestly believe he has the potential to be up there with the best of them, given a decent set of wheels.

I think when he drives in the wet, he demonstrates this.
