  • European GP - what a race!

I think GP races should have compulsory rain showers

I won't spoil it for you if you haven't yet watched it - but it's one to savour... did anyone spot the evasive manoeuvre of the safety car when its driver saw an out of control Toro Rosso looming large in his rear view mirror?

I think that was Massa in the Ferrari. I also think the wheel cover came off a Renault.

And to crown it all, Michael Schumacher has to present the team trophy to Ron Dennis And not a flicker of a smile from Schumacher

          Yep...outstandng race!

Did anyone else lose the last few laps though! grrrr....I Sky+ it and because it over run because it was stopped, I lost the last 10 laps.

However, I did see the nudging incident, and I reckon it was just a racing incident, not really sure why Alonso felt the need to point and wag his finger.

I couldnt belive it when Hamilton had such an outstanding start, then got a puncture.

It was a 'normal' racing incident, though if anything, it was Massa that drifted into Alonso, who was already half a car ahead at the point of impact.

Yes - Hamilton was really unlucky on several counts and he couldn't be faulted for the Q.incident or the race puncture. He was incredibly lucky with the gravel trap escape though. He didn't have much to lose but his tyre gambles in the race didn't work - but it shows that he thinks and if the conditions had been slightly different, he could have pulled it off.

I'm really frustrated Jenson didn't get a chance to show his wet weather skills. He'd passed one of the Renaults and was up to fourth (third if you discount Winkelhock), but the pond at the turn that caught Hamilton out was to end the fun.

My impression of Massa is not developing positively after this race - his childish behaviour after the race did him no favours.

Sorry but what have you heard or read about Massa??. Looked to me like it was Alonso who was starting it. Oh and more bad luck for kimi thats another car that he has broken. Sorry but they just do not seem to make them like they did a few years back

Oh and looking around the net it seems so many people loved seeing schumi having to give that cup to Big Ron.

Re: European GP - what a race!

I have only just started watching the F1 and I'm really enjoying it, even got Mandy watching it with me on Sunday and she enjoyed it!
The weekends race was fantastic with the rain then the dry then some rain that did not show then some that did, it's amazing how critical it is to time the pit stops to reflect the weather and to get the upper hand on the other drivers.

Have also been looking on the F1 site which has given me more insight and therefore getting me far more interested when watching the races, the rules and regs intrigue me as do the amount of tyres, fuel and engines etc they get through

                Here's looking forward to Sundays!

                    Hi Peter.

I was just reflecting on Massa having a bit of a PR crisis in the debrief room, involving poking the winner with a handy finger several times, before they went onto the podium. Regardless of who had the moral hight ground, the TV footage didn't do Felipe and favours. I like him - I think he's underrated and he has proven to be much more competitive with Raikkonen than most expected. But he needs to work on that PR

I thought Schumi handing the trophy over to Ron was hilarious, but did you seen him smile? Ron was like a proverbial chesire cat, but Schumi's expression looked a bit strained to me
