  • UK Floods

I'm hoping no-one is having too many problems with the floods in the UK.
We're in West Kent, no problems in our own immediate area.

I was just looking at the BBC website and images and noted there were a few problems in Worksop so I hope you're well away from the problem areas, Autumn?

Same applies to those of you in the Midlands and Yorkshire -where it seems to be quite worrying in places!

    Stay safe!

I have to say I wouldn't even consider living in a flood plain area. Our house is half way up a hill - though I have occasionally seen the rain water making the street look like rapids on a river!

Quit a few areas affected are not normally regarded as at risk, as well as the known danger spots.

Ah yes, but I'd definitely be looking for a house a good 20-30 feet higher than the nearest river or lake!

            Looks, eerily, rather scenic!

Am I not correct in thinking most of those building by the Ouse in York are built with flooding mind, and are on raised up on arch like support that are these days used as car parks when not flooded?
