Hi All,

Just wanted to tell you all that my wife Jen, is currently expecting our first little one!

The new snapper should be born on August 5th!

Woohoo!

(I guess that means no Lotus Elise next year then.....bah!)

Oh, and my new PC is scheduled for delivery on Tuesday next week, so hopefully next week should see me back on line as addictively as before

My two will soon be 9 and 11, but I bought my Prelude 2+2 three months before our first was due. I made sure that the baby seat would fit in the back

My logic was - get a decent sports car while I still could!

Many congratulations to you Ben, & Jen of course. There are many sacrifices you will have to make now, IMHO they are worth it. As for the sportscar, I had to get rid of mine about 23 years ago, a Triumph GT6 MkIII FHC, a little belter. We now have two big belters but I reckon they were worth it

Yay ....... that's fantastic news.

Forget about the Lotus. Go for one of THESE - much more useful and almost everybody gets outa yer way when they see you coming.

Same as all the above, forget the car time to get a new camera as you will wear one out with all those baby photos to come .

Oh and loads of people will tell you about all those sleepless nights to come, well its all true . BUT it is all worth it my two are 13 and 15. 99.9% is fun and you soon forget the rest.

Congratulaions Ben.
As the father of two of each i can tell you the first 21 years are the worst
I had a Ford Mustang in '66 , when my first was born , had to promise the wife i'd exchange it for something more practical .
I cheated , stuck it in my brothers garage and bought a Vauxhall Cresta .
It was 5 years before she found out why i disappeared every Sunday afternoon .

Congratulations, Its only another 8 years and I will be free again, I have told them all, I'm selling all and buying a boat, and then find me....

Seriously the greatest and most memorable days of my sad life were the days I caught my kids. Never has a man been happier.

Thanks for all the messages! I was blown away, I never realised getting a new PC could cause such a stir, it wont be arriving until Tuesday now though...bah

Oh, and the nipper arriving in August.....yes, I am not sure my little drive way would house a motor home Pol! haha!

Just kitted out the spare room, and I never realised how expensive kids could be BEFORE they even arrive!

Oh and Ian, I have tried your trick, but each time suggest it, i get 'The Look'......any married man knows what I mean!

I am currently trying to persuade Jen that a Volvo 850T5R is a very sensible car.

I am pretty envious of the cars I am hearing about here, and would love to see any evidence! hehe, Mustang, GT6 Triumph (just watching Life on Mars, and seeing one of those hairing around was a joy to watch), and I love the Prelude, a modern classic!

I know what it means to become a father (or at least I can imagine) as I am soon getting in the same process like you did

Ben,

My wife is not pregnant yet. We are planning to get into that process (after settling some things with job and home first) hopefully after this coming summer.
If everything goes according to planned schedule hopefully sometime next summer, mine will be due too

This is one of the reasons that makes us take advantage of all of our free weekends now and escape to different places for weekends getaways, since soon we will not be able to do so like we can now.
