  • A Real Long Shot

Halfway through reading a book I came across an item that had possibly been used as a bookmark or maybe just placed for safekeeping. I feel that the owner has kept this item for sentimental reasons due to it's age and I'm sure that he/she would like it back.....so

The item is a Pakistan International Airlines Exexcutive Boarding Pass.
Not so unusual you may think but....
The date is 28th September 1945.
    Flight PK 724
    Class C
    Gate 17
    Time 1945hrs
    Seat TC
There is a name on the ticket but I won't reveal that here.

Any ideas on how to trace the owner without making any international phone calls

If there's no joy in taking the book back to where you got it - how about scanning the ticket, printing a few copies and maybe asking local shops etc to put a notice in the window.

If it's a library book it's probably been circulated around several libraries .. so another option could be for you to contact a few regional papers and suggest they might be interested in writing a small article about it and include a copy of the picture.

Here's a link listing the UK regionals that are online so you can start with your locals and extend outwards if necessary.

Cor you don' half find em

Re the ticket.....after some more comments and a bit of delving it appears that the PIA did not form until 1946 so I can only assume that the time was printed twice (1945). That blows a hole in the possible sentiment angle.
