Re: F1 What ever you may think of him??

I think a lot of these are down to the fact he stayed in one team, built it up around him, had the perks of no 1 driver status, the no 2 HAD to play second fiddle. You do not see many drivers staying in a team for this amount of time. Unless you are a totally commited MS fan I think you will always look at some of the low underhanded ways he went about comming to some of those achievments. I liked the way Murray Walker (ever the ambassador) summed him up on Sunday. I could think of a couple of people who might have a different opinion! (JV and DH)
However... I think it was time to go... and I think it may be a lot closer next year for the title. We will have to wait and see.

I really agree with Alonso. But I do think that - certainly in later years - Schumacher has enjoyed a superior car. Last year, he did not have that advantage and he was no longer a regular winner.

Let's face it, he is arrogant, lacks a sense of humour, is a control freak (every time a driver seems to threaten his supremacy they mysteriously suffer issues) and is so driven to win that sportsmanship becomes a lower priority. But he's made his mark on the history books.

I just wish that his legacy hadn't have been tainted with such criticisms - I used to be a Ferrari fan.

Is that not what its all about. To be the best and in the best car.

I guess we must go by what we see on tv about him but do we really know him. Just think how many people think they know you but would be shocked if they knew the real you.

I must admit so do I but how many sports people go that long in a sport without something that will be a blot on their career.
