Can you name this tune?

[Autumn]

Here is a short video taken earlier in the year in the Long Bar at Raffles, Singapore. Our tour guide dropped us off for a 10 minute look around. Note the ceiling fans and people sitting drinking their expensive Singapore Slings. We went back to our hotel to have one at half the price.

The atmosphere was electric. There were sacks of peanuts all around and people took the shells off and through them on the floor! However, if you happened to drop a peanut shell outside Raffles, on the pavement, you got arrested. Singapore is very clean.

This song sounds like Liar. One of my sons says he thinks it is Fire! I have tried searching for it but can't find it. Does anyone know of its origins? I have heard it more recently over a Tannoy in a shop!

Hi Audrey, the song title is simply, "Fire." It was written by Bruce Springsteen for Elvis, but Elvis died and Bruce performed it himself. However, the version I first heard (and prefer) is by the Pointer Sisters. Check it out on Youtube: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDKNnJUP2FI[/ame]

Thanks John. That's the one. I listened to the Poynter Sisters and Bruce (several takes). They are all good.

It's so annoying when you have a song that you can't identify. Well done.
