  • Hay Fever

I'm just having a moan because I'm in the throes of one of the worst bouts of Hay Fever I've suffered for years. Moan, groan, sniff, sneeze.

I'm going around like a zombie, zonked by the side effects of antihistamines, doped up to the streaming eyes and nose and thoroughly fed up to the back teeth with it all.

Am I alone or is anyone else affected just now?

Thanks. You also have my sympathy.

It finally rained last night, gentle rain, so I finally managed a night without being doped quite so heavily with anthistamines. Not much sleep but at least I'm more awake and aware this morning.

I feel really sorry for you Pol, you have enough on ya plate without suffering from hay fever.
I consider my self very lucky in that I don't have that reaction.

I've never had it quite like this before, it's been miserable for a while now. I thought I'd grown out of it but obviously not - unless the peculiar climate and erratic season this year have caused an unusual and massive challenge?

David's on permanent year round anthistamines so he's coping ok.

No such luck. It's the time for all the moulds, fungi, spores, weeds, certain trees ... there's a Lime tree with branches hanging about 12-15' from an upstairs window.

They also cut and strimmed the verges and lanes recently so heck knows what they stirred up on the other side of the fences - all of it being blown about by the traffic on the main road

                Ian,

There's a good site here explaining more about the pollen calendar and the increase in sufferers.
