cant wait till kids get up & see it...mind you im not looking forward to getting out there on the walk to the school run
We have been blasted by summer weather during the winter continuously for 3 months now. All mountains, even in North Greece are without any show and the snow skiing business going bankrupt!
Today is again 20C sunshine and since last October it rained only twice for half hour.
I wish it could snow a little here in Athens to take some snow photos that I don't have any.
george are you complaining about it being 20c ?? i'll swap you ,when do you want to move then ??
stu i did check the met office this morning & the snow clouds were forming all over uk so no doubt you'll be getting some before 2morrow morning.its stopped here now & has begun to melt but they did say we'll get it again 2night

Yes, I accept to swap places, but only for a while.
I'm not complaining for having good weather. I enjoy every weekend going to my country house and going with my speed boat for fishing and trolling. I did swim this past weekend too. Generally 95% of the year the weather is really good, but a little snow wouldn't hurt to take some nice winter snaps.
OK, in Athens it hardly snows (probably once every 20 years for a couple of hours. But in North part of the country with the tall mountains and ski centers currently there is no snow at all. I cannot even go there to take some nice shots.
Currently the thermometer outside my balcony shows 28C under the sun, 22C in the shadow and is full sunshine.
Summer values (make sure your are sitting in a chair): 42-44C in the shadow, 56-58C in the sun!
Also people like things that don't have too much and here in Greece the majority of population likes snow, since we hardly see it at least in central and south parts of the country.
Hopefully this London snow storm, will not forget to visit some southern countries and especially Greece which is the southest in the Mediterranean part of Europe.
The thermometer on my balcony (outside window ledge), is 3.9 deg c (and falling) warm compared to a couple of nights back when it was -1 deg c. No doubt it will get lower than that soon, I heard on the radio we are looking at -9 deg c this week. Even the Sun as done a runner
I took some pics this morning from my window - may post some up tomorrow.
By the way George we have also been having summer weather for the last four weeks here in London - well summerish for winter that is - I don't think its not fallen below 10 degrees except for a couple of days BUT we have also had incredibly high winds (including a tornado) - I have enjoyed it immensely.
