  • Should I change my car

Not intended to be a Brexit thread although that is the reason for it.

I run a Dacia car, it's my second one and they fit the bill for me, its three years old in May but not actually due for changing until May 2021, last time i changed a year early due to the deal i was offered.
What ime trying to decide is will Brexit make EU cars a lot more expensive especially at the cheaper end of the market, I know its possibly an how long is a piece of string question.

I think the problem is that nobody really knows the answer. My personal view is this; a major factor will be the UK/EU trade negotiations that the UK government insists must be completed by the end of the year in order to avoid an extension of the Brexit transition period. If those negotiations are successful, you will be OK. If not, there could still be an extension - the press reports say if things are going well the government could accept a short extension in order to allow the deal to be completed. There is also the view that car manufacturers don't want to lose sales so there will be deals to address people, just like you, who have these concerns and might be put off buying a new car. But this is all speculation. I'd ask your dealer - I'm sure they will be just as concerned as you!

Looks nice and spacious. Do you use a hoist to get your mobility scooter into the car? I had to change my car last September and have the hoist moved over from the old car. I managed to remove the hoist myself from the old car but couldn't fit it to the new one due to it needing a different fixing kit. Having originally paid £1200 for it I had to fork out another £700 to get it fitted. When we are disabled we are over the barrel getting anything done. Hopefully this last change will last me out. By the way I bought a Peugeot 508sw, far to powerful for an olden, but I'm just a kid at heart.
Regards Ron. Live each day as if it was your last. One day you will be right. Down sized to Nikon s7000 compact camera.

Not used a hoist yet, hoping not to as depending on where we are going we need to get two travel scooters in, yes they rob you blind if you are buying disability gear especially locally, with our full-size scooters they are £1900 each around here, bought the two online for £800 each, this included 1 year free on-site repairs.
Depending on how it fits and how well we manage i will look into ramps for when we only have one in.
