Am at this year's show - is anyone else from here venturing over?

Quite busy today - and the sun is shining outside

Naah, it's still too cold for my old bones. Enjoy yourselves and bring us a few pics, create a virtual atmosphere for us.

Besides, I'm occupied touring Hanoi with the sweat shop boys. They're singing in perfect harmony today.

Am putting together a video tour of the show floor

I will post it later this evening.

The show is busy with visitors but of the big camera brands only Canon and Nikon have big stands and the Nikon one seems smaller than before. Fujifilm cameras are on the Fujifilm stand but much of that is dedicated to the Fujifilm commercial photography business.

Olympus has a small stand shared with sponsored photographer, Damien McGillycuddy and they have a clever publicity stunt at the show - a model is touring the show aisles wearing a dress made from Olympus OM-D lens cloths - if you photograph her you can have a chance of winning a camera if you tweet it with the hashtag #omgomd or post it on our sibling site: http://e-group.uk.net.

Pentax doesn't have a stand and neither does Sony. Panasonic is sharing a stand with one of the camera dealer chains.

Can you get her to wander over to the SWPP stand. Ask them to switch on their WebCam and we can then do "Screen Grabs"

Having a ticket and not being able to go, was bad enough...

Looking forward to seeing the video. Nice dress but I trust nobody cleaned their lens on it when she wasn't looking.

It sounds as though it was something of a 'contraction' on the usual brands and stands this year!

Perhaps that's a reflection of the recession? I imagine people are more focused on heating and eating at the moment.

Thanks Ian. Certainly enough to fill the day.

Re: We're at Focus on Imaging 2013

At last... a video which missed my partner! (me too, but that's quite common). However, he stands out (or up?) a bit as he's around 6'4ish.

Really enjoyed the day - although there seemed to be quite a few exhibitors missing (especially Jacobs) and Cameraworld didn't have anything didn't have anything that interested me. Fewer freebies about, too... Personally, I thought that it wasn't as crowded as the first day last year - certainly there was no half hour queue to get into the car park, and we were on the bus in 5 minutes.

My main reason for visiting was to have a look and feel of wedding albums but after visiting the Canon stand to have a look at the 6D/5D Mk III I decided to leave full frame for another day and bought a replacement for my G12 (which I've hated with a passion from the day I bought it).

Now the proud and happy owner of an EOS M. Initial impressions are very good - or hopefully will be when I've updated Lightroom and managed to get the new codecs on my computer!

Hi Caz, I went up on the train from Hemel, as I have done now for several years - £16.50 return on Sunday - which is very good value.

Interested to see how you get on with the EOS-M. Are you intending to use 'M' lenses or your existing EF ones?

£10 for car parking - I think my £16.50 return train ticket was a bargain. It does take the best part of 2 hours each way unless you go on the Virgin intercity express - but that's nearly three times the price.

Looking forward to seeing some EOS-M pix

NOT from the EOS-M (battery obviously needed charging) - a couple of shots from Focus:
