  • Cheesed off.

I'm cold, fed up with the endless grey, damp day with the biting cold northerly winds. My muscles don't work properly in this sort of weather, my leg muscles get stiff, my knees feel like ice cubes and I'm fed up with being trussd up like a turkey in thermals and microfleece as well as hugging wheat bags as I sit at the laptop ... unless I take the lappy into bed with me.

So I'm amusing myself playing daft games on the lappy - not exactly mindless but simple games.

Here are my two current favourites for anyone else feeling bored and fed up (and cold).

    Bubble hit at

and word games at (current favourite is popword)

Wrap yer knees in a fleece 'slanket', plonk a wheatbag on yer knese and enjoy.

I sit all comfy with a tray on my knee building matchstick models. Passes the time dunnit.
Have stuck those sites in me favs for a look later. I mostly just play card games.

I'm still waiting for last Summer to arive!

I didn't really understand the expression "chilled to the (bone) marrow" until this past year. I know exactly what it means now though and I won't even mention the energy bills.

I now know that being cold can actually be very painful.
At least we have a decent few days ahead with temps soring to 8c

I can't say I enjoyed the cold weather but we did get out most days with the camera.

Our little study sits up near the roof and as hot air rises it didn't feel too bad until we trespassed downstairs.

It's still perishing cold here and there's a stiff, biting north wind today. The best we can hope for is 4C with a 'real feel' of -2C, which is the best we've had for more than a week.

We also spend a lot of time upstairs as it's warmer and more cosy ... especially when I'm drying sheets over an airer in the living room.

Took the ice out of the bird bath just after 08.00 this morning. The ice is still intact and its after 4 now.
