F1 action is back this year and dramas already

Yesterday was the first day of pre-season testing at Jerez in Spain It's great to see the new cars and the driver merry go round coming to an end.

Jenson Button ended up fastest on the day (big cheer from this corner ) although last year's McLaren reliability issues did haunt him and the team in the morning when a puel pump failed.

New Brit on the seen Max Chilton ended up in the barriers after only a few laps in the new Marussia, apparently down to suspension failure rather than driver failings.

This morning Lewis Hamilton was out in the unfamiliar Mercedes and was going well until he had a close encounter head on with the barrier. It looks like he over-did it at a hairpin.

Renault and Red Bull look to be going OK...

Lewis apparently had to contend with a loss of rear brake pressure.

His Merc team mate, Nico Rosberg had a fire in the car yesterday - not the smoothest of starts for the Mercedes team!

I'm really hoping that Button wins this year! Interesting tweet yesterday from Martin Brundle that yesterday Button reminded him of 2009 pre-season.
