  • Can we survive Friday, the 15th next week!?

We all know that this caused the dinosaurs extinction 65 mil. years ago.

Now it's our turn? - and we have 9 more days only until that happens.

This one, the below, is quite a good stroy about the dinosaurs extinction but only for those who have time enough. (65 min.)

I just hope that NASA scientists made no errors in caluculations and forecasts. Not sure if it is a good opportunity of astrography. Maybe too fast to grab it?

Close, but no cigar is how I think the saying goes

Interesting that it's the same sort of size as the Siberian impact around a hundred years ago.

yes, it's actually much smaller but the imapact must be much larger than all the earthquakes we know if it really hits the earth.

by the way the second film is just 16:32 min. not 65min.

The Siberian event wasn't as bad as it could have been because the meteor blew up before impact. If it had impacted whole then a huge crater would have been formed and millions of tons of dust thrown up into the atmosphere.

Instead, a shock wave felled trees in an 800 square mile area but the effect was limited by the very remote area in which it happened and no long lasting consequences outside of the event area were caused.

The predicted end of the world nearly came. If that had happened during the Cold War it could have precipitated World War Three!

yeah, that could have been a cause that triger the WW III, if they had continuouly been Soviet Union. Since they changed in the early 90's, it seems they have wider and much well balanced viewpoints about what happening in the world. I just sincerly hope that China will follow soon.

Hope you can survive tonight together with your daughter and her friend. What happened in Russia could happen anywhere else. but don't frighten the kids. try to give them a good memory for tonight.
