Went to see the new James Bond Movie last night. We don't very often go to the Cinema, but we had heard that it was the best Bond movie to date and we have a new Cinema in Worksop since March (we haven't had one for probably 20 years)

What a lot of noise! I'm too old for all this stuff. IMO there was no story and there just seemed to be the most improbable fighting and effects all the way through. It wasn't a patch on the old ones "From Russia with Love" "Dr No" etc.

The part that excited me the most were the shots of Shanghai, particularly as I had been looking at Ian's photographs earlier in the day.

    Very good Ian.

Has anyone else seen the movie? I think others will like it as the trailers for other films were very much in the same genre - noisy, flashy and violent which I know are very popular.

I feel better now I have that off my chest.

I think it was over-hyped. It wasn't a bad movie but I still think the Daniel Craig version of Casion Royale was much better. My all time favourite remains Goldfinger

        Agreed Audrey -

Lots of bangs and explosions etc.

I confess I rather enjoyed it. The baddie although bad was not bad enough!

SWMBO doesn't like James Bond so I'll only get to see it on TV if there's nothing else on. However, I'll be expected to put up with chick flicks and sappy Christmas movies.
Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it. Terry Pratchett.

It's very funny because I thought what an ugly brute he was and then tonight Roy put something on that he had recorded which was the making of the movie 65 minutes! I didn't watch it as dinner was ready, but the baddie was speaking and he looked quite pleasant. Of course I could recognise him but it was interesting. I might watch it another time. I've had enough for one week. I think it was a boy thing anyway.
