  • F1 news Ferrari car a no show??

Ferrari could set a new trend in Formula One this Sunday when they launch their 2007 car without the car being present. See the full story here.

Also Kimi set to get more help from the master, did he know this would be on the cards when he signed on the dotted line I guess not. Story here.

It's unusual, but apart from giving the media loads to speculate (probably wildly...) about, I don't think it'll be a big deal either way. Generally we get see a rolling chassis, some new (but barely recognisable as such) aerodynamic aids and the odd new flash of colour here and there, but these PR launches rarely give us a flavour of the teams' likely performances for the season, so consequently it won't really matter if they don't have a car ready. What the event will be bringing to our screens is the image of Kimi Raikkonen wearing the right colours for the first time. I can't wait for the 2007 to start

It's alleged that when he signed provisionally, he didn't even know whether or not Schumacher would be retiring. I think he probably had a good idea that he'd be working with him at some level or other and to be honest - given the benefits of Schuey's experience and success with the team over ten years - he'll probably see it as beneficial in terms of familiarising himself with the Ferrari culture and on how to draw the team around him. Michael was highly proficient in that respect, so I doubt whether Kimi has any reason to take issue with his predecessor's new role.
