    I don't know if Yoshi already has this link but I'm posting it here for him or anyone else who may be interested.

    Google street view has set about photographing and mapping the area affected by the Tsunami with the facility for viewing everywhere before and after.

    Text is in Japanese though the before and and after buttons are in English The url is

      I'm not sure about how Google is getting the 'after' images but I suppose people must be sending them and Google is placing them in the correct location.

      The comparison between before and after is shocking in those places where they have images. I can't imagine Google actually driving through to take their own updated shots! I hope not anyway!

      I must say it's an excellent map showing the mountains and mountain roads. Such beautiful mountain roads in and around those areas which are probably so familiar to you.

      Have your neighbours returned to their homes yet? Though I don't suppose they were able to save their animals.

        The after photos were all done by Google, click on the "about" tab on the above link to see how they did it. I guess that the locations matching were all done using GPS satellites.
