Search me and I qualify for the 'Old People' tag

You obviously need a Harry Potter fan to enlighten you

I'm a real "Old People" (mid-70s). Looks like a set of step rings http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Luminos-Ma...-/260816395508

Maybe you need some fairy dust so they will work their magic -- or play the Midsummer Night's Dream incidental music

The "Magic" here is that they are all 67mm internal thread and each and every one has a 67mm external thread plus a second external thread of a different size. This allows any combination of rings to be fitted together. All other stepping rings only have one internal (female) and one external (male) thread. Now that's Magic. Look closely at the image on the box.
Regards Ron. Live each day as if it was your last. One day you will be right. Down sized to Nikon s7000 compact camera.

Sorry to have to disagree (I'm not really but one has to say that in these days of PC)

I want there to be something "Magical" about these things... Screw it on the front of the lens and all the images are perfect in every way...

While they do all screw togeather, all that does is add extra weight to the step-up rings, which are heavy anyway compared to the modern ones. Then there is the fifth one that has the words "LUMINOS MAGIC RING" engraved on it, that while confounding, seems to have no purpose.

I also appreciate that they are of an era when advertising standards, allowed the use of such wording.

So if there is another element that goes with these things to complete the circle and reveal the true power of "The RING", please let me know...

To be honest I would never purchased such gadgets. The Real Magic to day is that we can take a single shot then apply, by computer, any filter effect we like. Although I must say I enjoyed my younger days of film and chemicals, what is now achievable digitally makes photography even more fascinating. It seems age is our only limiting factor and the brain getting slow to learn all corners of today's technology.

I too would not buy things like this, but when they are given to me, I find them "interesting"

It's very strange what you can find on the internet when searching for answers, often the most obscure things pop up...

"Magic Lens filters combine viewing filters with interaction and composition in a much broader way than do previous systems. They are useful both as a component of the see-through interface and as a general-purpose visualization paradigm, in which the lenses become an integral part of the model being viewed.

              OR:

This lens is designed to help you practice reading Martha's handwriting, the first step of dealing with any historical document. Historians wish transcription was always this easy!"

              However this maybe a posibility

underwater, filters, colour, color, red filter, white balance, photography, camera, magic, correction

OR: Maybe there's an incantation that when used with the Magic Ring produces the same effect as portrait professional

Gees you have been busy. Try researching that lot at your local library. They say we learn something new every day. Reading that lot is more than a months worth for me.
