I'm a fan of (most of) the Royals, but cost was the priority in deciding a late Easter break for me and the family so we were on an early flight to Venice on Thursday and got back this morning. We had no english language channels on our hotel TV (unusually) but one channel had a looping recording of the events, without commentary, but with sound, so we didn't miss it .

Taken hundreds of shots in Venice - will be spending ages sorting through them!

In time I'm sure one of the TV companies will release a DVD, so you can then sit back with a shandy and be wowed.

I hope the family enjoyed Venice and the weather suited the group. Looking forward to seeing the pix. Last time Anne and I were there the gondoliers were on strike.

            I think it's on iPlayer isn't it?

I was very despondent about the weather before we left - the BBC Weather page for Venice suggested cloudy and showery weather all through our stay. It had rained overnight before our arrival on Thursday morning but we had mainly sunny and warm weather, with a nice cooling breeze, all throughout our stay

I've started a thread for my pix - more to come, but here's a starter:

Use this board to post your photos and to tell us about the scene you set out to capture. Don't forget that the best place for *critique* in order see how your photography might be improved, technically, remains the Image Insight Photo critique board.
