  • Come on chin up England!

Lets be honest here, did we really think we were going to get much further the way the team has played upto yet?
These guys are meant to be the best of the best, the cream of the crop!

Its dissapointing when we are supposed to be a football crazed nation, I don't follow football but always support England when they play, its a shame the players are more focussed on the new model Aston Martin or Farrari, or how many million they can blow on a luxury Villa than actually focussing on their job.

Its disgusting how much they get payed and to top it off when they do not deliver aswell........pathetic

Was it just me seeing things or whenever Shrek, sorry roony got the ball he passed it to the other side..........what a numpty

don't really do football other than photograph it, however from my perspective 11 blokes ran around against a team. was hoping england were gonna lift it from the lack lustre performance in the group games. they didn't. and reaped the reward.

irony.....football is transmitted in HD & 3d, yet FIFA determine that techno plays no part in important decisions. 2 very bad decisions in 2 consecutive games. i thought it was only the FIA (motorsport) that could mess things up so badly.

I agree that FIFA needs to use (simple) modern video technology to eliminate embarrassing failures of the on-pitch officials. I don't think it would have made any difference though.

People don't realise that Germany is a country of very distinct nations, just as distinctive to them as Scotland, Wales, England and Northern Ireland. The insistence of the UK home nations in having their own teams achieves absolutely nothing as far as I can see. It's short-sited and selfish. We should all pull together and produce a team that comprises the ALL the best talents the UK has to offer.

Although Capello must be at least a small part of the problem, I think it's the FA and the Premier League that needs to be shaken up. And actually I think Capello's english is remarkably good now.

There is some talk of the players being tired (and Capello has said this) but just look at how well some other Premier League players are playing for other countries - like Teves for Argenitina yesterday (two fabulous goals).

I think there is a huge interest in football among youngsters in the UK; the playing fields at weekends are always busy. But UK league teams seem obliged to hire mainly foreign players - which I do find very puzzling.

And I do feel very strongly about the idea of switching to a UK team.

Probably so, but he was struggling to answer Press questions last night.

There don't seem to be so many random fields for young people to use, like there used to be. Perhaps they've nabbed for housing I also find it puzzling that UK league teams seem obliged to hire mainly foreign players.

I'm very much in favour of a UK team instead of the current set up that fragments the country into mainly small national teams with a much smaller chance of success.

People think of Germany as one nation, but it isn't. But they have done the sensible thing and united their country for international competition. So why shouldn't we?

Nice thought, but I can only think of one uk player who mighn't have
made the squad. The rest are worse than England's players that's
why they are not at the World Cup.
