usually means that the SSL certificate has expired for the website you're accessing. SSL is the secure transfer stuff usually found on banking sites , ebay etc (those that show the padlock in the web browser)

      Hi
Thanks for the reply, but what do I do about it.
I must mention I have just ungraded my Laptop to Windows 7, and this is showing when I want my email using the new Windows Live Mail.
      My provider being Sky.

ummmm, wait for a patch to internet explorer to become available?

there's nothing that YOU can do as the warning is generated by the browser software not being able to verify the website that it is connecting to's security certificate. doesn't necessarily mean that the cert is missing / expired, just that the browser can't find it.

          Hi
Thanks for coming giving it thought and coming back to me, but I have sorted it
Very simple in the end, I just undated my time on the computer with the internet clock and its fine now.
It wasn't causing problems just irritating.

All I need to do now is to sort a boot problem, since the upgrade on boot up I get the choice of system to boot from Vista or Win 7, trouble is I don't have a duel boot set up. All I can think is there are enough old Vista files about causing the issue.
Select Win 7 from the option and all is fine, again just an irritant if anyone can tell me how to get rid I would be grateful.

            Re: Can anyone tell me

control panel / system/ advanced / startup will allow you to change settings.

To edit the boot thingy use EASYBCD from http://neosmart.net/dl.php?id=1

                Ooops
Don't know what's gone wrong here. The only way out that I know of is to use the original DVD and repair the boor environment - but I have never done that with W7. There are a number of W7 forums around

mydigitallife.info is your first and best source for all of the information you’re looking for. From general topics to more of what you would expect to find here, mydigitallife.info has it all. We hope you find what you are searching for!

see if there are any suggestions on those

                  I found this
-- The Official Christopher Heiser Home Page

                  and this

                  Good luck

PS, I have in the past had to install a second copy of the OS to a different disk or folder (not windows - use another name like testwin) so that i could access things to backup before reinstalling the whole lot.

                      Hi Keith

Sad to say none of these remedies have worked, the problem as I see it is the change I made inside windows is the problem, and I can't get into Windows to correct. catch 22.

I have however from a full backup restored my Vista system onto a spare H/D and its working fine.

So if I boot running Vista, then connect the H/D with Windows 7 on it via a USB, can I rectify the problem somehow that way. I obviosly need to get too the settings I changed, so I can change them back.

UP AND RUNNING AGAIN: simple when you know how.

All I had to do was run the Windows disk, select repair and go to the command line and type in "bcdedit/timeout 30" and then re-boot. Then chang the priority back to Windows 7 which I had inadvertently put to other OS system (which didn't wor4k just stry files) and because I had set the time to zero there was no time to select Windows 7 from the duel boot screen. Job Done
