Looking for a Web Host

Hi All,

Looking for some advice with regard to web hosting, and domain names etc.

This is something I know very little about!

I used to use ClikPic but in my opinion, they seem rather expensive (maybe I am being niaive!)

If anyone has any help or advice regarding this subject, I would be very grateful.

This would be for a business orientated venture, but this stage, cost is important, and needs to be as cheap as possible, but have the ability to look as professional as possible....if that isnt a contradiction!

Any suggestions?

Ben, are you wanting something similar to Clikpic or simply web hosting where you create your own web site. Clikpic will be more expensive but then they are providing a template and easy method of creating a web gallery.

If you want just basic web hosting and a domain name, then create your own content including galleries then I use http://www.godaddy.com. This will include email accounts and 500mb of web space as a basic package. However there are lots of these sort of companies around and you should shop around for the best deals.

I've never gone for my own domain but Hori always used Powweb, his business websites hosted there as well as loads of personal ones, including his various community forums. He also had various galleries hosted there including my own (now gone, along with the man himself).

He was always nagging me to get my own but I just used his as he had unlimited space, unlimited bandwith, unlimited email addys and excellent forums for members discussions and support.

Have a look at UK2, their offers are pretty good, and they are based in the UK which is often advantageous.

Ben, were you aware that Bendurrantphotography.com is available? I think I'd snap that one up, alternatively Durrantphotography.co.uk is also available and would be my second choice
