Laptop and internet

Our 16 yr old granddaughter is coming to stay with us for 10 days.

In her bedroom, we have our second computer which is connected to the internet wirelessly through a router attached to the main computer in another room. She could use this, but she is so familiar with her own laptop, that I wonder if it would pick up our internet connections.

As you can guess, I know very little about how these things work.

We are with TalkTalk and so are her parents. Will her computer be configured to her parents ISP or will it just have picked up the connection?

Will it need to be configured to our ISP or will it just pick up the connection?

Hers is a new laptap with Vista OS.

Audrey, her laptop should have no problem picking up your wireless internet connection. The only thing that may cause an issue is if access to your network is password protected in order to stop other people using it

Well I think I do have a password for the router.

I'll wait until she comes and see what happens, no doubt if it is only a case of my password we will be able to work something out.
