  • Not able to access Internet explorer

My Internet Explorer has been hijacked (i.e. my browser web page cannot be changed from a site that I don't want). What can I do?

Hi Preston, I think you may have a Trojan, it happened to me once and I used a prog called CWS Shredder to get rid of it. I think you can download it from HERE

The above link may eventually lead you HERE

If the CWS cleaner doesn't fix the problem Preston, Google for Hijack This. It's only a very small download, and when run finds all the baddies on your system, especially the unwanted BHO's, (Browser Helper Objects), that usually cause these problems.

I'd agree Roger, but unless you are pretty computer savvy, deleting stuff using Hijack This can be be a tad dangerous.

Ed's note: We suspect Robart and preston are one and the same and, technically spamming. So the link below has been disabled until we are sure that this is not the case.

Download any free anti-spyware program that can help you from hijackers
I recommend you to download the free program called Spyware sweeper
This will manually remove the spy ware, which is hijacking your browser. You would find free instructions at *******************

              Preston,
Follow Stephen's advice and try the CWS cleaner first.
I don't think that you have a trojan, they are usually able to hide deep in the system so as not to draw attention to themselves, hence the name. It isn't a virus either. Download Highjack This from HERE , run it, but don't delete anything. Just look down the listing produced for entries called 'BHO' (Browser Helpers) which often are the cause of this problem. You could report your findings back to here, but there is a forum on the site where you downloaded HJT and the real experts are there.
It is no good asking for advice if you don't want to try some of the suggestions.
