My current Windows 10 PC can be agonizingly slow at times with the Disk Usage frequently stuck at 100%, Part of the problem was a full hard drive. Even though it holds 2 terabytes of data, it was almost maxed out rendering Virtual Memory useless in operating the PC.

I just added an external 2 terabyte hard drive and copied all my videos to it. Pretty much everythings is backed up on Carbonite, Amazon, iCloud, and Google. I then removed the vast majority of the videos from my PC's hard drive and freed up 348 GB. I'm in the process of doing the same thing with my Pictures file. I was shocked to discover that I had 351,000+ photos on my PC!

I would have backed up the essential files on DVD but the DVD burner died a few months ago. I will never buy an Acer PC again. The two 3.0 USB ports on the front of the PC are irretrievably dead as well. Fortunately the rear USB ports work fine.

Note: If you do have DVD backups, keep them in a remote location. I advised a friend to back up his PC. He kept the disks in a drawer and lost everything when the entire house burned down!

If you're not living on the edge you're taking up too much room.

As of last year I was still running Widows7 so with the end of support for that thought I'd better update. I ended up with a Lenovo with 16 gig of Ram and a 8th generation i7 processor and a 256 gig ssd. It's a revalation, it will boot from off to working in about 10 seconds, it runs photoshop to working in about 4 second. On my old system this took well over a minute. All other programs are equally fast.

Well worth the investment at about £700.00.
