  • Nik plug ins

I have just bought Nik plug-ins complete collection for Lightroom/Aperture. None but the HDR Efex actually show. They show in Aperture but not Lightroom.
Apparently there is a fix but it's not working for me. I have uninstalled Aperture, reinstalled Photoshop (advised as part of the fix)
I have emailed support at Nik Software but the auto reply says it could be two or three days for a reply.
    Anyone any ideas.
By the way I use a iMac running Mountain Lion

      Hi Patrick,

how are you finding mountain lion? I bought a macbook pro with retina display so have a free upgrade voucher from lion but so far have not wanted to install mountain lion after a not so great experience when I moved from snow leopard to lion on an older mac.

      best regards

I have had no problems in particulare with Mountain Lion, I had a small problem at first in that my home network wouldn't work, but a quick call to Apple Support sorted it out in a trice.
Everything now works a treat, iCloud in pabrticular is I feel better under ML.

My only silly grumble is, for Snow leopard we had a official picture of a snow leopard also for Lion, but they don't give you one for Mountaian Lion. I have found one to use.
I know it's daft but I like the screen wallpaper to reflect the OS.

Been using ML since the third day of its launch, I too had a voucher.

Hi Patrick - was there anything out of the ordinary with the solution to your problem?

            Hi Ian
Aparently it's a problem experienced by some on both Mac & Windows.
Nothing special in the end, the Adobe's fix didn't work which was the deletion of a file plus the possible reinstalation of Photoshop. The fix which I didn't read for Windows looked more complicated. In the event Nik told me in Lightroom to go to preferences> presets> untick "save presets to cataloque". As simple as that so Why couldn't Adobe give that advice instead of the rubbish they did give. The solution for Windows was probably equally simple.
