Day or so before Xmas I tried to get my Hotmail account, Facebook etc all connected for use on my smart phone! Not a smart move as I changed my password & forgot it! Then when trying to access too many times, the account was closed! Requesting a reset from the supposedly LIVE HELP forum got what must have been an automated response saying that they would verify ownership of the account within 24 hours! Well, after repeated attempts to get someone LIVE to assist or answer has proved fruitless! It seems that Hotmail have a DEAD customer service center! After having the account for over 10 years, Microsoft...MSN...Hotmail whoever WILL NOT give a damn! I will need to set up another e-mail I guess to be able to get dpNow notifications etc!

I expect hot mail is not so hot any more and as profit falls so will the service and support.

Hi Jocelyn, I think you can have two or more hotmail e-mail addresses (actually as many as you want). Just change user ID and password slightly for easier recall. Using #1, #2 or _1, _2 after the ID or the password for the differentiation of each address might worth trying.
G-mail (google) and yahoo have also similar free mail services. If you are an enthusiastic you tube lurker, then g-mail might be interesting.
While doing so, they will hopefully finish the verification of ownership, in case there are some e-mails you do not want to lose.

I had to create an alternative email, so I chose Google or Gmail! The only problem with my Hotmail account being blocked, I've never backed up the important email, can't remember all my contacts email addresses either & there were a number of very important emails I didn't want to loose! After 10 years, one collects heaps of things that an alternative e-mail address would not help with!JocelynComment
