K10D - non official sample pics

Pentax K10D seems to have been already launched somewhere other than Japan where the launch is expected on Nov.30th. Apart from official samples Pentax showed at their official site, I find these unofficial samples are of some interests. Maybe simply because the landscapes samples were taken at a place I like. They are less than one week old.
Indoor and night pictures are also available. Each samples can be enlarged in two sizes, including 100% crop. There are two pages. Good for killing time when you can not go out for taking pictures.

Pentax needs to pull their finger out and get the K10D in worldwide circulation before more people give up waiting and change systems!

There are people in Australia who have been using a K10D since late November - but here in the UK the release date just gets pushed further and further back. Pentax has probably lost quite a lot by NOT having the K10D on UK shelves for Christmas.

Certainly looks like a nice camera, but I agree it needs to be on dealers shelves. I think my brother's buying one, but he's OK waiting.

I suppose I don't mind waiting either, but I'd still like to see some user examples and comments about how they like, or dislike it. It's very frustrating when they keep changing the date for delivery - it's very poor business sense imho.

There's a good chance I'd have been given one for Christmas if it had been available. My Birthday ain't until September so maybe it'll be on the shelves by then! In short - I'd like to have one before I'm too, too old to enjoy it.

From a Japanese site who runs an event to determine their version of "the camera of the year". Only those who run/own a camera/photography-related-sites/blogs seem to be entitled to vote. Until Dec.20th 45 persons voted ( there seem to be some more days before closing date). So this is just an interim report. This shows the popularity among those people and nothing to do with actual sales units/market shares.

Top 2 are Pentax atm.
I anticipate that the new DA* lenses to be introduced in March (?) will also have similar production issues, tho it will be to a less extent. Hope K10D will be available to you all before long.

45 votes so far - so maybe all the others have gone off to buy a 30D. (just joking!)

In fact, I think the K10D will be widely available in the UK very soon. I've just been having a quick look in 'pentaxuser uk' and see one or two people have now received their pre-order from 'Park Cameras', so clearly they do have them in stock now. Here's the link .... They seem delighted so far, probably relieved the long, long, long wait is finally over ... for them anyway.

Hopefully all the other outlets will be sending out their pre-ordered stock immediately after Christmas.

Hello Pol
Really looking forward to your reports on the K10D. There seems to be a good few around at the moment. I may have to wait until well into the year for reductions as I don't have enough money to spare at the moment.
Did you hold on to the Isd. I will also go for body only.
Ordered a Pentax 50-200 today as I did not want to pay 60quid for repairs to the 70-300.

Back in the early 80s when I used to work in a camera shop, our policy was to buy s/h gear in at one third the expected re-sale price.

I have no dSLR in the past 10 days. I don't like it.

True I'm not 'normal' when I finally get my hands on something I've been craving for and saving for - then I manage to persuade someone to buy it for me as a present so I get to keep my savings for other goodies (unless I can extract more presents for my Birthday, later in the year)

That's an impressive Poll result for the K10D - it's a very nice camera. I may get around to putting it down when I fall asleep again.
