  • Olympus E-400 high iso help

    Hello to everybody from Greece!

I have the Olympus E-400 with the 14-42 lens. When i have 1250 ISO and above, the left horizontal side of the picture fills with noise,it is all magenta, where the rest picture is ok.This started from the very first time.
Problem with the lens, the sensor?
Any similar experience?I ask you to have an idea before I give the camera for service.

    Hi Ilenia,

Is this happening when you look at the lcd or only when you have downloaded the pictures to your computer? Is it on raw files AND on jpeg?
I would suspect that something is happening to corrupt the file between the camera and the computer. This has been reported by lots of people , with many different cameras, when they transfer the picture files to their computer directly from the camera. If that is your method it would be worth trying a card reader.

Re: Olympus E-400 high iso help

      I always use card reader.
This specific noise is seen both in camera's monitor as in the picture in the pc.
      Both raw as jpg files.
      It is a constructural characteristic.
To explain,by the time I shot I see the picture everywhere with that noise. That means it is the lens or the sensor. Is it common among users of the same camera and lens?

        Hi Ilenia,

Sounds bad! Probably the sensor or the supporting circuits. Is there a dealer close by that you could ask?
