Pentax announced LIST PRICE increase for some lenses effective in Japan from Feb. 2, 2009.
The news does not say anything about if or not the price increase are applied to global markets simultaneously.
The lenses subject to the price hike are FA, FA* and A (manual focus) lenses, that is, so called full format lenses developed originally for 35mm film cameras.
The main stream lenses, e.g. DA, DA* and DFA lenses (that is, for their dSLR cameras) are beyond the scope of the price up.
The increase ratio varies. For lenses with fixed focal length, such as, FA43mm limited 21%, A50mm 21% and for FA*600mm/F4 35%.
And for zoom lenses, between 8.7% (A 35-80mm) and 21% (FA28-105mm) - but i did not caluculate all the lenses.
The reason Pentax gave for the price increase is basically low materials price increase.
I attach the list of those FA lenses here (in Japanese). I thought it might be of interest to some people who want to know which FA lenses are still in production even after the price increase.
When you see two same lenses in the list , then the first one shows a silver lens in colour, while the second is black. Just colour difference and no price difference between the two.
