  • 5D successor?

    With approx. one more month remaining before PMA, some information is getting available.

    This one is from a newspaper inteview with Canon president Uchida on Dec.23rd. (I learned about this in a rumour site and have not read the interview myself. - a local (not national) newspaper which I can not buy at my place and the interview is not yet available at their homepage.)

    quite a brief reference to the successor to 5D:

    - a 'strong' new product:

    not necessarily clear enough what 'strong' means here. - 'robust' body or 'competitive' against other brands - I guess the latter as he added followings.

    - more durability, pixel size to be renewed, same price (as 5D) but better

    At our rumour site, they are talking/guessing now about;

    1) if or not the 'renewed' pixel size means 16M or not ...
    2) if the 'same' price means - the same price as of the 5D's launch date or at the currently prevailing market price
    3) and many other aspects

    Season' Greetings to you all!

      Hi Yoshi, as usual there will be a lot of debate about the 5D replacement. Personally, I don't feel more pixels are needed. Instead, the camera needs to be faster to use - like the 40D. Maybe lighter and smaller, if possible.

      We will see!
