Re: OFFICIAL annoucement from Nikon
It's about D3 and what they say about the spec is exactly same as rumoured. Well, Nikon is cautious to say, "almost" FF as the sensor size is not 36 x 24 mm but 36.0mm x 23.9mm.Originally posted by yoshi View Post
No news about D300. At one of Japanese site this morning says only one model is is announced today. - let see.

Re: D300 and all the five lenses were also announced
Hi Ian, yeah exactly. While lurking some Japanese sites after the official announcements, I once reckoned it - that there are so many (till now hidden) Nikon fans indeed. They have really strong customer base.Originally posted by Ian View PostBoth these cameras are sure to ring alarm bells at Canon. For the first time in a long time Nikon can truthfully claim to be ahead of the Canon DSLR game. Only an EOS-1Ds rival is missing and that probably isn't far away.
Ian
So you expect another Nikon DSLR will be introduced? Maybe around PMA time?
I'm still wondering why the rumours were so accurate - 99.99% correct.
What was not correct is the model code - D3 and not D3X.
At this moment the poster/owner of the blog says nothing in this regard.

Re: D300 and all the five lenses were also announced
Patrick, I think the optimistic news for you is that it seems logical that Canon should improve the spec of the EOS-5D and sell it a little cheaper.
How would a 12MP full frame 5fps 5D successor sound to you? Pure speculation on my part I hasten to add...

I'm surprised that Patrick hasn't splashed out on a 5D before now, though I'm well aware that the extra money may well take it beyond his budget. What you are suggesting certainly wouldn't swing my choice based on just another couple of FPSOriginally posted by Ian View PostPatrick, I think the optimistic news for you is that it seems logical that Canon should improve the spec of the EOS-5D and sell it a little cheaper.

You must surely think there would be a few more goodies in a new model to attract him though Ian.
