Re: The new Canon 40D
OK, so I said I wasn't going to upgrade from my 350D but try and get back to my photographic roots....you've guessed it.....Park Cameras, this afternoon
....I'll get me coat...
No one's mentioned the interchangeable screens, that must get a
from the pros surely? There's also some neat sounding wi-fi gear including a GPS option that writes to the EXIF apparently - looking forward to finding a bit more out about that.
As to the Sat Nav OT bit of this thread, I was an early adopter and had a built-in system in a Rover 75 two company cars back. Loved it. Picked the car up on a Saturday afternoon and drove to Edinburgh on the Sunday - straight to the hotel door. Went from there to John O'Groats, turned left and went right across the coast to travel back down the west coast. Didn't get lost once and there's some pretty hairy country up there! (If the sun's shining I still reckon the west coast of Scotland takes some beating for scenery).
I've never ended up in a field but I have gone down some roads in the Peak District that I think were actually goat tracks
.
My current Sat Nav system, also a built-in but in a Ford, has TMC and I wouldn't be without it, I've been dynamically re-routed a number of times to avoid congestion and the one time I thought I knew better, I sat on the M6 for over 3 hours
.
I'm a self-confessed gadget freak but Sat Nav and Cruise Control are two car "gadgets" I wouldn't want to give up.
