Has anyone used the new Tamron 18-250mm f3.5-6.3 Di ll LD (IF) Aspherical Macro? And if yes what do you think of the results?

I've not tried one myself, but that's a near 14x zoom and the design is likely to be full of compromise on the optical front. But don't let me write it off before any evidence is offered

All things considered, the lens is better than expected according to these reviews, but you can expect fringing and at the tele end, corner resolution drops off detectably.

This is a convenience lens, but no laternative to an 18-55 and a 50-200 if you want better quality.
