I am amazed at this little box of tricks, I took delivery on Friday and have shot about 600 pics, most total disasters but the camera and I are communicating now. Its telling me I am bloody useless and don't know my **** from my elbow. I have managed a couple ok a few shots that might be worthy of posting to the galleries. I'll do that later in the week.

Sadly my budget could not stretch to a tele lense so I will have to make do with the 75 x 300 and the standard 18 x 55 lenses supplied for now. In a few months I will add the 200 x 400 and 2x converter to the bag. IN the mean time I am planning a visit to the Kruger Park on the weekend, Maybe a Lion or two will pose for me, a leopard would be champion, I know'll get some Jumbo and maybe a Rhino.

Nice one. I got my 400D at Christmas (present to self!), and am loving it. The more you use it the more it will love you back. Look forward to seeing some lions and leopards from you.

You lucky so-and-so Guy. To be able to "pop" into the Kruger on the weekend !!
You snap away and enjoy, and don't forget to show us your bounty!

It is less than an hour from home, I don't go as often as I should

Strange thing that but the closer you are to a place of interest the less you seem to visit.
I had the American Adventure Theme Park just a 10 minute drive away and, in the 7/8 years of it being there, I never ever went inside. (it's now closed)

I force myself to go at least once or twice a month but sometimes find that a month or two has passed without me having been.

I had my sole trip to Africa in November, 2005. I LOVE it!. Spent most of my time in Botswana, and a little in Zimbabwe near Vic Falls. Next time, I should live so long, it will all be in South Africa, mainly along the eastern coast from some safari camps down to Capetown. Nice folks in South Africa, at least those I met. Love African sunsets!
