Stephen you can put your name down for one if you want. They have it on park cameras website, no price.

In fairness though, the 5D is a different beast, catering for a different market, so I doubt that will happen Stu. Now if Canon announce a 1DsMkIII that will put a lot of cheap 1DsMkII's on the market which may mean some 5D owners will swap. The mind boggles

I suppose then the 30D buyers (soon to be 40D) will go for the 5D's and so on, at the end of the queue you will be able to get a compact and Canon will have to pay you to take it. Your right my mind does boggle.

Re: EOS 1D Mark III - End May

                Hi Ian,
you must be having very busy days with PMA in just two weeks.

Well, it's my pleasure. The launch date has IMHO little meaning in the real world. A good example is Pentax K10D. I watch and touched it for the first time last week in Tokyo and now I believe its existence. And to my surprise I found it in my city too today. So for this city, today is the launch date. IIRC it seems it was introduced first in Australia in Oct and then in some other larger cities in the world. I now learned it takes nearly three months until a new one comes to my city.

Many manufacturers see higher growth ratio of DSLR in especially Europe, so it is no wonder that Canon introduce it first in Europe. We already have an example of Olympus E-400. Have you already heard anything about the three models coming shortly? Or is it a too touchy question at this right moment?

                        This I cannot believe somehow.

I thought Canon had not yet officially announced the retail price.
