I'm normally a serial upgrader but I'm going to hold on to my 350D until I see some proof that 10.1 megapixels is better than 8.2. Good to see that my battery grip will fit the new model though and that the EF-S mount is going to continue.

If you've got a link to any pictures taken with the 400 I'd love to have a look.

had the email from jessops today, but it neglected to mention a price. also noticed they have an exclusive on the silver model. not sure of the demand on silver as, to me, it looks toy-like. got the silver 300d somewhere which doesn't have anywhere near the presence as the black 10d....makes it easier to blag access to events. the white lens has the same benefit too.

i'd be interested to see what the high iso performance is like. not read anything about it as yet so no idea if they've crammed more pixels into the same sensor size or what. increase in LCD display is very welcome.
from the jessops mail, i'm guessing the camera body is the same physical size as the 350d. it'd be nice if there were 2 versions. one in the 350d size body and another in a 10d sized body. impractical i know, but would be nice for those with larger shovels

Hi jds-9000, I popped in yesterday no sign of the 400d yet. Will have to wait and see what the 40d will look like before I think of upgrading.

Still hasn't arrived ...... it's in Preston ..... but tried one out in Jessops ... and it's pretty good. Even tried one with the battery grip, and it's even better. Light, all the buttons are accessible, the screen worked fine, even outside in the sunlight, (yes we've still got a summer down here !!) .... and really fast at writing to the CF card ..... can't wait .... :-)

At last .... it's arrived
