Canon 500D or 550D

Hi i am planning to buy a DSLR.
please suggest whether Canon 500D or 550D?

what's the main difference between these models.
also will 18-55 the kit lens be good enough for beginning.. i will be shooting indoors, landscapes (as i travel pretty often)

I think, reading what Ian has put here, I would go for the 500D, and get a f1.8 50mm prime lens, together with a memory card for the same price
