A gimbal head for mirrorless cameras

An entrepeneur has designed a gimbal head for mirrorless cameras and is seeking Crowdfunding support so he can get it manuafactured for sale. This is what he said:

Greetings!

I have been a user of Panasonic GH2 and Lumix 14140 +Lumix100300 lenses for some time to make wildlife movies. I switched over from Nikon mainly for the lighter kit and advantage of great video. I could not find a suitable tripod head to shoot movies and videos, which would not weigh me down.

I designed one, got it manufactured at my CNC machine shop. I have been testing for some time. It weighs just 350 gms and features a new quick change mechanism designed for mirrorless cameras (light but strong).

We have launched a crowd funding campaign on Indiegogo. I believe this will be of interest to you and your readers.

Unfortunately by the very nature of all these single cantilever designs, they are prone to vibration.

Oddly, though, just tried the funding page and it's not accessible at the moment.

If he want's an extensive field test, we could try it out under different conditions and provide some real world user feed back.

The crowdfunding page seems to have disappeared. The design looks good and I hope it does become reality and certainly if they di eventually send one for evaluation I will involve your expertise, Graham.

Sanjeev from Steti has been in touch - the funding bid wasn't working and that is why the funding page has been suspended but the product development is not affected and he says it is going well. He added:

"Nevertheless, the development is progressing very well and I have also found a way to go portrait on any camera on the Steti Micro."
