Anti-glare screens - looking for a guinea pig

I have been contacted by a company that produces anti-glare screen protectors for camera screens. They wanted us to try the product but we don't have a camera in the office that fits any of their range:

Canon: 500D, 550D, 60D, 1000D
Nikon: D3000, D3100, D7000

What size are the protectors? Maybe one of us could cut them down to fit a 4/3's camera.

I get the impression they are custom fit and the manufacturer has asked me to recommend any other popular cameras to be fitted for the product.

Why don't we recommend some compact cameras?
Such as Pana's LX* series or Canon's G** series etc.
Especially those ones without EVF.

I also want them to add Sony or Pentax dSLR or Leica --- whatever brands to cover more.

If anti-glare means what I expect to have,it would be a world hit product.

Looking forward to reading the analysis report of the pilot marketing.

Yes you're the only one so far, Caz, but I'm hoping Roger Leale can try one on his Nikon D7000.

I suppose the crucial question is how well the product deals with glare in bright sunlight?

My anti-glare screen protector arrived within a couple of weeks of sending a PM to Ian after his original post went up, with a friendly note from the manufacturers asking for feedback if I had any problems with the product.

I've tried screen protectors before, but they generally peel off within hours or days of application. The directions were clear (there's a couple of shots of the product in my gallery "Misc 2") and it was easy to apply and remove the air bubbles. Where I did have a few problems was removing the final sticker, which did leave a small amount of residue on the protector but I've managed to remove most of that with a fingernail. So far, it seems to be standing up well.

I'm using the protector on a Canon 550d, and it fits the screen well and was easy to reposition. I tested it out last Friday when I went to a gig by a band I've just started shooting where I was asked to concentrate on the bass guitarist and drummer. Although able to use the viewfinder to capture the bass guitarist, the drummer was at the back of the small stage under 5 strobe lights so liveview did come into play then. I was shooting in a very dark room with little lighting apart from the strobes. The light was behind me and quite high up, and the screen was easy to see and adjust. There's also a couple of shots from the gig in that gallery - the flash shot was taken using the viewfinder, the dark shot shows just what kind of lighting I was dealing with!

I haven't managed to get out with my camera since then, but will be going with the band to Birmingham on Friday for an outdoor shoot before their gig so hope to be able to give more feedback then as I shall be taking more kit with me than I usually do to gigs.

That's also what I thought. I feel it strange that 1000D is on the list. If my memory is not that much eroded, there are so many models between the 1000D, a 5-year old model, and the other three recent models. Why suddenly 1000D?
