The highlight of the last couple of days for me was a whale watching trip. We were out for about 4.5 hrs amongst the islands south of Vancouver Island. Unfortunately the E-P1 was unsuitable for this sort of photography, there simply is not enough reach on the kit lens. Frankly though its not really the sort of camera I would want to use even if I had a long lens for it. It simply is not fast enough IMHO. Anyway I had to use my canon with the 100-400 lens, though even then you are often a fair distance away to get close up shots. Whales appear very quickly and by the time you have them in the viewfinder and zoomed in etc they can often have gone.
I've picked out 3 shots anyway, time is limited and we fly home today, back in Blighty on Saturday morning
